Pre-Kindergarten
The Pre Kindergarten program continues to build on the fundamental social, fine and gross motor skills children have previously learned. Children expand their learning by beginning to recognize the difference between lower letters and capital letters and are encouraged to sound out the letters as they trace them. They will also be introduced to mathematics, adding and subtracting, as well as sciences such as animals and their homes. Children will also learn characters. Questions are asked throughout story time to encourage them to utilize their comprehension skills and allow them to use their creativity to determine what could happen next. They also continue to develop their gross motor skills, through outdoor activities, including age appropriate games with peers.
